Liz and John have style. I actually want to move in with them, their house is so funky and cool. (in fact, if it weren’t for the little bat problem they had recently, I’d probably be in the guest room right now.) I love when the stylish elements of a couple’s personality shine through in their wedding… there was nothing cookie cutter about this. And even though Liz claims to hate wedding planning, she did a fantastic job. The best part of the whole day was the way Liz and John interact, and how it makes the people around them happy. They both come from fabulous families, and you can see how Liz’s parents’ beautiful and loving marriage have set the example for her, and how John’s relaxed and happy parents’ set the example for him (when yu have 7 kids, you have to learn very quickly to be relaxed!) It was a great wedding for us to be a part of, as, as always, Heather cried along with the bride at the ceremony

John getting ready as Jesse stalked him all the way into the bathroom.

John and his brothers pre-ceremony! This is why it's important to have two photographers- to capture funny moments like this!

The dress took a lot of lacing, but it was worth it. Check out that awesome bracelet! Liz has great style.

I love first looks. Whether or not you do them just the two of you or with all your family there, you're able to have a more natural reaction than at the end of an aisle. Plus, you're able to chill out together before the ceremony, and that makes everyone happier!

As Jesse was taking the "official formal photo" I snagged this one in between shots of the true moment.

Liz's flowers were amazing. Studio 539 Flowers

I love formals before the ceremony. They chill everyone out and afford us time to get creative.

Liz and John were a little unsure of getting on the carousel, but it was worth it in the end.

A moment on the carousel... we added the "old fashioned".

The inside of the botanical center all decked out. It was warm in here- it's a greenhouse!!

Liz's grandparents made the beautiful cake. The topper is from her other grandparents.

The awesome red sox hat groom's cake

Liz's amazing tatoo wasn't concealed. I love it! Hair piece by Doris Petunia on etsy.com

I love the way Liz's dad looks at her... it's as if he's constantly reminded of every wonderful moment they've spent together.

It's hard to be the officiant and the father of the groom!

husband and wife

Being pelted by rice! The rice made for really fun pictures, even if it ended up all down Liz's dress. Good idea Callie!

One of the best first dances ever. It was smooth.

The Botanical Center is truly beautiful, day and night

Liz and her dad are obviously very close... and since she's an only child this was a very touching moment.

Mother/son dance.

Liz gets down. Literally.

Liz rocking out with her blue tongue (remember that boston red sox cake?!)

Father, officiant, and phenomenal dancer? What doesnt this guy do?!

It's almost like John was in a boy band the way he was being assaulted by the ladies!

It was wedding madness! We couldn’t be happier with the fantastic weddings that we were a part of over Columbus Day weekend, officially the new busiest weekend of the year!
We like to spend half of the time you allot to formals with your families and wedding parties, but then take you away for at least a half hour. This is portrait time, and quite often the only down time you have all day. We do all sorts of silly things during the portraits to get you to pose without being “posey” (since we pretty much let you be you without direction the rest of the day).
… here are the interpretations of “badass” from three spectacular couples.

More than four years ago, Jesse and I were married at Zukas Hilltop Barn in Spencer, MA. We had an amazing experience and have raved about the place ever since. Christine & Tim also had the honor of being married at Zukas, this past weekend. I think I can speak for them when I say they too had an amazing experience.

Christine and Tim in the field behind Zukas... we're able to capture these moments when the bride and groom give us more than an hour between the ceremony and reception!

Andrea and Joe have such an incredible unspoken bond… one of them is a little quieter than the other (ahem, Joe), but instead of overpowering Joe, Andrea brings out a bit of an extrovert in him. I love it when couples truly complement each other, make the other more comfortable (I mean, is it really that often that you have two photographers stalk you as you walk around a busy town?), make each other more excited about the shoot. We had a great time getting to know Andrea & Joe better, showing them how we shoot, before their Providence wedding at the Biltmore Hotel, and we can’t wait until October 24.

In Flo's Clam Shack- how eclectic is this place? We love to shoot in "unordinary" spots

Can you find Andrea & Joe?

I love tilt shift lenses. We're always mixing it up!

Joe loved this one in particular

After Flo's Clam Shack, we moved up to a wildlife sanctuary for a change of pace

again, I love that tilt shift! See that blurriness on the corners? That's the tilt shift

Then... we moved on to the beach. What's a Newport Engagement session without beach photos??

It's cold! But Andrea was willing to do anything- which we always love in a client!!

I love how Andrea & Joe are cute without being mushy. It's just the way they catch each other's eyes, hold hands, smile... it's great to be around, and great to photograph
