In honor of the 40 days of flooding we’ve had lately (ok, I might be a bit dramatic with that), I’ve been remembering rainy day weddings. Before I got married, having rain on my wedding day seemed like the worst thing ever. It actually rained the entire week of my wedding except Friday, the big day. So by the time Friday had rolled around, I was getting used to the idea.
If you’re having a Boston wedding, especially in September, there are some good chances of it raining on at least one Saturday. And that Saturday might be yours
A really good perk of rainy or overcast days is that the sun isn’t so bright- and there are less shadows to contend with while photographing. Notice how perfectly everyone is lit in the photos below.
Jesse and I guarantee that you will have awesome wedding photos even if it’s a deluge. In fact, if you’re game, we’ll still go outside! Here’s some proof:
Adam and Erin got married in Scituate because of it's beautiful sea-side location. No worries- we bring umbrellas!
Kristen and Matt got married during a hurricane! So Jesse held the umbrella above them and I got in close. At least during rainy wedding days, the sky looks amazing.
This is the quintessential rain photo for us- Jesse held the umbrella, ran out of the shot while I took the photo, then ran back in. And Kristen and Matt still got that amazing shot of the country location that they loved!
Heather and Dave were troopers with the umbrella, and they stayed outside long enough for a break in the rain so we got some non-umbrella shots too.
Rain couldn't make Michelle and Craig stop smiling for one second! While it was torrential, we still got them leaving the church... and their formals were taken on the porch of the Pine Hills Golf Club, not a shabby plan b.
Sarah and Mike planned an amazing outside ceremony at Elm Bank in Wellesley and weren't about to let rain ruin it. I think the umbrellas add a cool colorful vibe here!
after standing outside for the ceremony what was another half hour for portraits? Elm Bank is so gorgeous that Sarah & Mike were determined to use the grounds!
