So here we are on the hottest day of the year, and Chris and Kristin didn’t even notice. They were too excited to be getting married. I love it when a couple could care less about the day – be it snow, rain or 95 degree weather – and just be too excited to see each other.

Chris & Kristin also chose to surround themselves by wonderful people… Ciras Photography, of course haha, but also Paula from Marrero Weddings and Events. She creates a zen feeling around you on the day of, so you don’t have to even worry about the excruciating heat . Also of note is the fabulous staff of the Bradley Estate. They were sweet and kind, tending to everyone graciously during the day. (I don’t usually gush about the other vendors, though we come into contact with many who are awesome, but these folks were fantastic.)

I’ve never seen attention to detail like this beautiful Rehearsal Dinner at Bourne Farm in Falmouth. Alexis and her mom spent hours taking this from an empty barn to a little dream world… they not only set each table, but they rolled in wine barrels as cocktail table (genius! I want to do this on my deck now!), and even labeled lobster bibs for everyone. And, mother nature played along- providing no rain, but this ethereal covering of blue fog.

Alexis and Brent even set up activites for people- here was the Michigan themed cornhole!

Last week, Jesse dragged me out to our favorite field to get some maternity photos- we have several different ideas for shoots, so we’re going to try and do them all in the next few weeks. And all day I toyed with not posting one here. But I ask you all to allow me to post beautiful, vulnerable photos of you, so… you get one, though more to follow eventually. How talented is my husband- look at that awesome lighting! And, might I say, I love photoshop even more since I could take in a few bits and pieces of myself!

I am just like each and every one of you- before the shoot I was telling Jesse how nervous I was to have my photo taken, and the first few photos of the shoot are a bust because I look so nervous. But once I relaxed and just let him work his photo magic, I felt great. And I am so happy I have these photos to show my daughter one day.

Don’t get me wrong, Boston folks are lovely ( this survey that says Bostonians are mean aside), but there is something downright loveable about Southerners. Jeannette and Frank, were all smiles and charm on the day of their Boston wedding, thousands of miles away from Alabama, their home. They fell in love with Boston when visiting for work a year or so ago, and Frank proposed to Jeannette at Mamma Maria in the North End. It seems only fitting that when they said their vows, they were at Mamma Maria again, in the same little corner where Frank asked Jeannette to marry him. It’s their own little place in Boston.

We met up with them at the Boston Millenium Hotel and wandered through Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall to get some awesome portraits. It was roughly 1,000 degrees out, but these two were resilient from Southern summers, and only laughed as Jesse and I sweat profusely! Then we walked down to the waterfront, and over to the restaurant. I wish we had this luxury with all our clients- what an awesome way to get a ton of beautiful portraits!
