You can always tell when things are busy around here if the blogging gets a little sparse… here are a couple of shoots I’m working on right now, with a few more to come soon…

Well, by popular demand I am posting some more of my maternity shoot. I’m really glad that I did these- and did them around 33 weeks, because now, at 38 weeks, I am a swollen, puffy mess. Ok, that might be an overstatement, but I sure as hell don’t feel as cute and pregnant as I did 2 months ago!

I can’t imagine not having these photos for my daughter to look at someday… I think I have seen one photo of my mother pregnant, and she’s wearing a moo-moo and smoking a cigarette. (Don’t worry, mom, I don’t judge. It was before doctor’s went crazy about that, and I eventually went to Columbia, so I think my brain development is just fine.)

It was so much fun photographing Kara’s maternity. We’re only due a couple weeks apart, so aside from the obvious issues we had walking from place to place and getting up from crouched positions, it was so nice to be able to photograph this important time in someone else’s life too. I know how much I love my maternity photos (which, btw, there will be more of soon), and I hope that Kara loves hers just as much. I think these photos will only come to mean more as our babies (and we) get older…

Last week, Jesse dragged me out to our favorite field to get some maternity photos- we have several different ideas for shoots, so we’re going to try and do them all in the next few weeks. And all day I toyed with not posting one here. But I ask you all to allow me to post beautiful, vulnerable photos of you, so… you get one, though more to follow eventually. How talented is my husband- look at that awesome lighting! And, might I say, I love photoshop even more since I could take in a few bits and pieces of myself!

I am just like each and every one of you- before the shoot I was telling Jesse how nervous I was to have my photo taken, and the first few photos of the shoot are a bust because I look so nervous. But once I relaxed and just let him work his photo magic, I felt great. And I am so happy I have these photos to show my daughter one day.
