The Nugget
July 14, 2011Well, in case you haven’t heard via facebook, Jesse and I have been quite obsessed with this little nugget lately:

Oh, and in case you don’t know what “XX” means, it’s a girl! (Well, they’re pretty sure it’s a girl, as they never tell you conclusively.) If this were a video and not a photo, you’d see her legs thumping the sides of my uterus pretty steadily. It’s a party in there, I swear. This was about about 7 weeks ago, so I bet she’s at least 200x bigger. I’m no doctor, but I predict I’m having a 20 pound baby that can already walk. And if she can’t walk, she can at least dance. Hopefully she has my moves and not Jesse’s.
I’m due in October- so my brides will see a much larger version of myself at their weddings between now and then, and I’ll be posting some maternity photos in the next couple of months. It’s amazing and wonderful and scary as hell to be pregnant and I love it.
Jones River Trading Wedding: Kerry & Mike part 3
July 12, 2011Here’s the third (and final!) installment of Kerry and Mike’s wedding! This part shows the reception at Jones River Trading Co., a funky little gem of a place in Kingston, MA. Kerry loves nautical themes, so this was the PERFECT place for her. I love natural light, and you can see all that yummy light pouring in from the windows up by the ceiling. But aside from just being beautiful, the whole wedding was sustainable, recycled, and the venue provided organic food at a reasonable price. It was a very green wedding, hence the potted plants and lack of cut flowers/etc. The burlap was cut from old coffee bags, and the little jars on the table were baby food jars accumulated by friends and family and filled with seeds for replanting.

Jones River Trading Wedding: Kerry & Mike part 2!
July 5, 2011So… I knew I wouldn’t be able to fit Kerry & Mike’s wedding into one post… but I know I won’t be able to fit it into two now either! So here’s their beautiful formals, shot mostly on the beach in Falmouth, and I’ll post the reception later this week!!
Here’s part one if you’d like to check it out:

Jones River Trading Wedding: Kerry & Mike
June 30, 2011So I’ve written and rewritten this post a few times already and I’m having a hard time putting into words how awesome Kerry and Mike are. Alone, they’re both super interesting and entertaining, but together they’re an unrivaled force of happiness and fun. Kerry’s wild personality and contagious laugh is only complemented by Mike’s understated humor. I’m so glad that we got to know them. Don’t think you can get rid of us now, Kerry & Mike! We’re going to be friends for a long time!
Also, I should note, it’s so flattering when another photographer hires you for their wedding. Kerry’s making a go of her photography business, so check her out here and leave some love!

one of the awesome clutches Kerry had made for her bridesmaids. Each had a different fabric with blues and greens

I love the photos Jesse gets of the guys getting ready. I wish I had photos of him getting ready on our wedding day.

The wedding party each painted a small canvas that hung at the end of the pews at the church. I love this idea- now Kerry and Mike have decorations for their home!

I was waiting at the end of the aisle, and Jesse snagged this before Kerry headed down. I love that there's two of us we don't miss a moment...
Check back after the Fourth of July for the amazing beach portraits and reception craziness! Happy holiday!
Pam & Jon: Topsfield Common Wedding Teasers
June 28, 2011I can’t say enough good things about Pam and Jon’s laid back wedding and the Topsfield Commons.
Suzie & Jeff's album
June 22, 2011I am in LOVE with Suzie & Jeff’s album. They picked a really beautiful fabric cover, and I may try forcing it on everyone because I love it so much. Oh yeah, I think the photos are pretty neat too.
Yay! Our Warren Conference Center Wedding from last October was featured in the new The Knot Magazine, Boston.
If you’d like to take a look at more photos from Joyce & Andrew’s wedding (especially since I think they left out some awesome ones… but I’m completely biased!), see here:

Unplugged Weddings
June 13, 2011
Do you see what I see? I count 7 visible cameras plus the dude with camera in the aisle. (Who turned out to be suuuuuper cute and nice. Not all people who jump into the aisle are bad people, even if we're silently cursing them for it!)
Such a good idea! I’m not hateful towards guests with cameras as some photographers are (if we’ve photographed your wedding, you know that we regularly move out of the way for guests with cameras, even taking photos with their cameras so they can get in the photo!), but there are photos at every wedding that are ruined by guests with cameras… usually during the processional and recessional (whether it’s down an aisle or down a grassy lawn), and I love the idea of spreading the word to tone it down a little! Who loves photos where everyone’s staring down at a camera instead of smiling and enjoying the moment?
